MRSA
We require all students to be appropriately immunised against the MRSA disease for clinical practice placement.
Evidence of immunity
All students who have worked in or been admitted to a healthcare facility outside Western Australia in the last 12 months prior to commencing or anytime during the program, must declare this and have MRSA screening completed.
Students may attend the ECU Student Health Services or their own GP to have this test. A copy of the results must be submitted with all documents.
Students will not be allowed to attend clinical practice until the results have been submitted.
If you are not immune
If swabs demonstrate the presence of MRSA you will need to make a follow up appointment to see your doctor to discuss.
The outcome will need to be discussed with the nominated person in your school or discipline.
