WAAPA students are Breaking Out
Friday, 10 August 2012
Dare to be entertained as the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) 3rd Year Dance students present a feast of fresh and highly original works in 'Breaking Out' at The Dolphin Theatre (UWA) from 21 August to 25 August 2012.
'Breaking Out' is a selection of compelling new works devised and choreographed by the graduating dance students with their peers and involving equally imaginative use of music, mostly original scores written, performed and recorded by WAAPA’s Composition and Music Technology students.
“Breaking Out will be the high point of the 3rd year WAAPA Dance students’ careers to date, a culmination of three years of intensive study in the wonderful world of choreography. The entire dance department has come together to present this magnificent celebration of the next generation of dancers and choreographers. Come along and witness their innovative achievements in contemporary performance – a real treat and not to be missed! – said Nanette Hassall, WAAPA Head of Dance.
Audiences will be enchanted as the students reveal a little about themselves, their hopes, dreams, fears and fantasies in this not to be missed contemporary dance performance.
