ECU PhD student Nic Poulos recently received the top award for strength and conditioning coaching in Australia.
The Bruce Walsh Award, which was presented at the recent International Conference on Applied Strength and Conditioning at the Gold Coast, is the highest honour for a strength and conditioning coach in Australia.
The win recognises Mr Poulos’ long-term contribution to the development of his profession.
He has recently taken up the position as strength and conditioning coordinator at the Adelaide Football Club. Prior to this he was the strength and conditioning specialist at the Aspire Academy in Qatar.
Head of School of Exercise and Health Sciences Professor Rob Newton congratulated Mr Poulos on winning the significant award.
“This award recognises the hard work and dedication Nic has shown throughout his career in the field of strength and conditioning,” Professor Newton said.
“Winning such a significant award highlights Nic’s commitment to raising the standard of Australian sporting performance. Congratulations!”
