Community activity

Engaging with the community is an important aspect of our activities and is integral to the Bunbury Education Precinct’s business.

Our engagement activity is guided by ‘ECU’s Engagement Functional Plan’ to strengthen our position as a valuable education hub in the region.

Key to the Precinct’s success is the maintenance of strong local, national and international partnerships that will realise sustainable educational, economic, environmental, social and cultural benefits for the region through teaching and learning, regionally-relevant research and community engagement.

The Bunbury Education Precinct partners comprise of: ECU South West Campus; Manea Senior College; the South West Institute of Technology (SWIT); and two teaching hospitals – Bunbury Regional Hospital and St John of God Hospital. Together we work collaboratively to share resources; increase workplace learning opportunities particularly for education, nursing and social work students; and provide articulation opportunities for high school and SWIT graduates.
