ECU’s award winning Nursing Department is hosting the sixth annual South West Career Nursing Expo on Friday, 27 May at the South West Campus.
The Expo brings together future and current nursing students and employers from around Western Australia to discuss nursing opportunities.
It also provides a great opportunity for those currently enrolled, as well as registered nursing students, to get the information they need to apply for graduate programs when they complete their course. Those already in the nursing sector can also take a look at our post-graduate opportunities on offer.
“Nursing is a great career, giving graduates extremely high rates of employment, even in times of recession. It also provides opportunities for travel and a vast array of interesting and valuable life experiences,” said course coordinator and senior lecturer, Ms Sue Tencer.
Future nursing students will have the opportunity to talk to ECU lecturers and current student nurses, as well as take a tour of the nursing wards and have the chance to ‘play’ with the patient mannequins.
The Nursing program at ECU South West has two demonstration wards built to hospital standards, with ECU staff working closely with students to provide a supportive environment.
Cost is free and bookings are recommended. Group bookings from high schools and TAFEs are welcome.
