Background

Mr Irvine joined ECU in 2008 from the University of Ballarat, where he was the Head of Western Campuses. He enjoyed particular success in promoting better education and training opportunities in health, education and service industries in Western Victoria. He worked as a secondary school teacher in regional technical schools in Victoria and a teacher in TAFE institutes, specialising in information technology and business systems.

Mr Irvine holds the Graduate Diploma in Educational Administration (Student Welfare) from the Hawthorn Institute of Education and a Diploma of Education and Bachelor of Economics both from La Trobe University.
