ECU’s Carbon Footprint Calculation

The total carbon footprint was calculated as 35,857 tonnes of CO2e for 2008.  The following provides an overview of ECU’s carbon footprint for 2008 (fleet vehicles are offset and 5% of electricity is sourced from renewable energy supplies).  For further info please go to energy management page.

ECU turns emissions in trees

ECU is showing its commitment to reducing the carbon footprint by turning vehicle emissions into trees.

Last year 2700 oil mallee trees were planted on a farm in Bally Bally, near Beverley to absorb the carbon dioxide emissions the University produced from its fleet of 54 carbon producing vehicles.
