Public Transport

Smartrider

Smartrider is the new electronic ticketing system that replaces the mutiriders on Perth's trains, ferries and buses. Once you have purchased a card from authorised outlets, you can add value to your card and simply swipe your card at bus and train stations to check on and off. The embedded microchip records the fare and it is deducted from your total value. For information on the new Smartrider card system visit the Transperth website.

ECU Joondalup

ECU Joondalup's location near the Joondalup Train Station means that it has the best public transport options of any Western Australian University . If you are a student you also have the benefit of Transperth's excellent concession fares.
Smartriders will be coming into effect from January 2006 and will be available for purchase at your nearest newsagency.
