Information For External Students

PLEASE PLACE YOUR ORDER AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.
Texts are not always restocked once the initial stock has sold out and new stock can take up to 6 weeks to arrive.

PLEASE NOTE: As booklists are no longer mailed to students, you will need to check your booklist either through SIMO or check your materials for the listed texts.

Online Orders

The ECU Online Bookshop supplies textbooks to all students within Australia and overseas. You will be able to check which books you require via SIMO or through this website and order accordingly.

To place an order through this website, you must use a credit card and pay applicable postage charges which will be added to your total book order at the time of processing (please see our postage page for rates). All books ordered through this website will incur the applicable postage charges and will be mailed to you. It is not possible to place an online order and collect the books from the bookshop. Please check the postage charge webpage to confirm charges before completing your order.

Paying by cheque or money order.

If you do not wish to place an online order using a credit card but are using the service to check prices with the intention of sending a money order/cheque.

Please print off and complete the Online Bookshop Order Form and mail it with your cheque or money order.

Purchasing books on campus

The ECU Online Bookshop operates throughout the year within the ECU Joondalup Bookshop with specially trained staff to deal exclusively with orders received online. You are able to purchase the bulk of your texts from the ECU Online Bookshop at Joondalup, however it is best to call to ensure that the books you require are in stock. If you are unable to collect your books from the ECU Joondalup Bookshop, we will transfer texts to any other ECU Bookshop for your convenience. This transfer can take up to 48 hours.

After semester has been running for four weeks the ECU Online Bookshop is staffed on a part time basis only, the bulk of our orders having been processed by that date. Orders received through the website, mail, fax and email are checked every two days and processed immediately. We can also still arrange the transfer of books to your nearest ECU Bookshop for purchase there.

Out of stock and delayed textbooks

When a text is delayed or deemed "out of stock" by the publisher, permission to photocopy can be requested from the publisher on the provision that the text, royalties and postal charges are prepaid by you. The book will be sent to you as soon as it becomes available. Once you have received the photocopy, no refund, in any circumstances, can be made because of Copyright Law.

Referencing Guide ($2.00) (download from here) is also available from the ECU Online Bookshop and can be ordered with your textbooks.

Special Orders

If you require a book other than a required textbook you can request a special order. You are able to search our entire database of titles through our online book search facility and place an order for any item listed in it or make contact with the ECU Online Bookshop staff who can assist you with your query. If the book is not in stock, please expect a delay of between 2-6 weeks, depending on where the book is coming from. Orders from suppliers overseas can take up to 6 weeks. You will be contacted if a delay of more than 2 weeks is expected.
