Information for Lecturers

The ECU Bookshops stock a variety of products apart from textbooks, such as general books, stationery, compact disks, greeting cards, memorabilia, posters and stamps. You can search the bookshop database for titles you may be interested in.

The Bookshops are open until 5:00pm Monday to Thursday. On Friday they close at 4:30pm. However, at the beginning of each semester, we are open late. The hours are listed on the ‘Opening Hours’ page.

Academic texts are discounted by 6.5%.

Textbook Orders

The textbook ordering process begins in October and April each year. It is important to submit your order as early as possible to ensure that the books will be in the Bookshops for the commencement of semester.

Please be aware that if you would like to order the same textbooks as a previous semester the information must be reconfirmed. Please place an order for each semester.Towards the end of each semester the Bookshop returns unsold stock to the suppliers if possible. The Bookshop is bound by the suppliers terms of trade and we can only return a small percentage of overstocks. Books also need to be sent back within a certain timeframe.

Please advise us as soon as possible of any amendments to your order. If you change your mind about a text, let the Bookshop text buyers know immediately. Text book orders will need to be cancelled with the suppliers or returns organised.

Many Australian suppliers do not hold large quantities of stock in their warehouses, consequently the books need to be shipped from overseas. The later a textbook order is submitted there is a higher likelihood that the University will be charged airfreight cost, which is approximately $8-10 per book, and takes on average 4-5 weeks for delivery. The airfreight cost is absorbed by the Bookshop, not passed on to the student.

Lecturer textbook orders can be placed via our online order form. Please click on the following link:
