Security Services

The ECU Security services is staffed by qualified, professional and committed security officers.

We operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our mission is to provide a professional and efficient security service to ensure a safe environment in which the educational vision of the university can be realised.

Our aim is to protect life and property and maintain an environment that is safe and secure.

Our Security Service team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing the University community with the following services:

• Provide security patrols of buildings and grounds.
• Respond to all emergencies on campus.
• Monitor after-hours access and respond to all alarms.
• Provide security escort for staff and students on request.
• Provide first aid assistance.
• Investigate security related incidences.
• Deliver security awareness programs.
• Provide security orientation to students.
• Respond to and manage conflict situations.
• Liaise with external emergency services.
• Provide consultation on security systems.
• Event security.

Traffic Services

The Traffic Services role is to provide parking and promotion of alternative transport options to facilitate access onto campus for the University community.

This encompasses:

• Traffic Management
• Support and promotion of public transport, biking and walking to campus.
• End of trip facilities
• Parking on Campus
• Parking Permits
• Student Housing Permits
• Temporary Permits
• Parking Infringements
• Parking Appeals
