Permits

4.1
A vehicle must display the appropriate parking permit on the bottom left hand passenger corner of the windscreen, so the number can be validated.
4.2
Parking permits are available from the campus cashier on presentation of a completed and authorised application form and payment of the appropriate fee.
4.2(b)
You can now order your parking permit on-line. Purchasing of parking permits on-line is available to staff and students for credit card payments only. Order on-line and your permit will be posted to you within 7 working days. To order, go to eshop.ecu.edu.au.
4.3
Application forms are available from, and upon completion must be authorised by, Student Central.
4.4
Permits are issued for a specific person and a specific vehicle. Permits are not normally transferable.
4.5
The granting of a parking permit does not entitle the permit holder to the use of any particular parking area, nor does the University guarantee that a parking area will be available when required by a permit holder, nor does it guarantee location proximity.
4.6
A note on the dashboard is not acceptable in place of a permit.
4.7
Forged permits are considered a serious offence and may impact on employment or enrolment status.
4.8
Parking permits are not to be hidden behind window tinting/sunshields and must be clearly visible.
4.9
Parking permits are not to be defaced, altered or reproduced under any circumstances.

Student Housing Parking
Vehicles must display a Red student permit and a student housing permit.
5. Parking Refunds
Permit holders ceasing with the University shall be entitled to a refund of the parking fee paid based on the HECS policy. Applications for refunds must be supported by documentary evidence.
6. Penalties
6.1
The University is authorised to impose penalties in respect of breaches of By-Laws. The maximum penalty is $250 but offenders are initially given the opportunity to pay a modified penalty of $25 or $60 depending on the nature of the infringement. The University engages the services of the Fines Enforcement Registry to collect penalties in default and is authorised to charge additional fees for administration and legal costs.
Appeals against infringements must be forwarded to the Parking Administrator within fourteen days from the date of the infringement. Verbal appeals cannot be accepted. Appellants may ultimately elect to have their case heard by a Magistrate rather than processed by Fines Enforcement Registry.
Appeals may be lodged as follows:
(a) Online here.
(b) Via Email to parking@ecu.edu.au
(c) Hand Written on the appeal form available at Student Central on your campus.
Change of Details
Change of details during the valid period of the parking permit must be submitted via: http://www.ecu.edu.au/fas/security/vehicle_change_form.php
