Kurongkurl Katitjin, our Centre for Indigenous Australian Education and Research, offers specific entry pathways to prospective Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students, enabling you to enter our degree courses. The centre plays a key role in assisting the University to meet its commitment to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders.
Kurongkurl Katitjin coordinates the University’s support services and programs aimed at meeting academic and cultural needs of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders students, with the intention of enabling all our Indigenous students to flourish and succeed in their studies.
The centre also plays an important role in assisting other schools within ECU to provide opportunities for their students to develop their graduate attributes in relation to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders.
Kurongkurl Katitjin delivers the following course to assist students wishing to enter the entertainment industry from an Aboriginal culture perspective, who may be hampered by lack of tuition at an appropriate level in one or more areas of song, dance and acting.
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students can access a range of financial assistance from ECU, in addition to any other financial assistance they may be eligible for.
