Graduate Diploma in Education

Applicants wishing to apply to study the Graduate Diploma of Education on-campus at either our Joondalup, Mount Lawley or South West (Bunbury) campuses should apply directly to us using our Online Admissions System.

Note: Applications to study the Graduate Diploma by residency mode have now closed.

Applications to ECU must include the following:

  • A one page personal statement on why you wish to become a teacher. The statement must be signed and have the following declaration: "I declare that this statement is my own work, and truthfully addresses the requested criteria. I understand that my enrolment may be cancelled, and my academic record annotated accordingly, if it is proved that I was offered a place based on false or misleading evidence."
  • A two page resume
  • Copies of any qualifications you have obtained (unless gained at ECU) 
Please note - if any of the following conditions applies to your application you will need to submit additional documents as follows:
  • If any qualifications are in a different name to your current name, you will need to supply evidence of your change of name, e.g. marriage certificate/change of name.
  • If your secondary education and undergraduate degree were not completed in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom or the United States of America; you'll need to supply proof of English competency.

What happens next?

Once your application has been processed you will be contacted to arrange your interview and school based activity and later advised of the outcome.

If successful, you will receive a Letter of Offer with further information on how to commence the course with ECU

2012

  • 23 August: ECU Online Admission System opens for applications to courses commencing Semester 1 2013
  • 7 November: Closing date for applications via the Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC)
    NB - applications can still be submitted direct to ECU using our Online Admission System
  • 7 December: Closing date for applications to study the Graduate Diploma of Education via residency mode (Joondalup, Mount Lawley)

2013

  • 15 February: Closing date for applications to study the Graduate Diploma of Education (Joondalup, Mt Lawley, South West (Bunbury))
  • 18 February: Orientation week
  • 25 February: Semester 1 starts
  • ~Mid April: Applications to courses commencing Semester 2 2013 will open, check our mid-year entry page for more information
  • 22 July: Orientation week
  • 29 July: Semester 2 starts
