English competency
There are minimum English competency requirements set for ECU - these can change dependent on the course level (i.e. undergraduate, postgraduate and etc) and the specific course you wish to study.

| Pearson Test of English (PTE) | PTE Academic 57 (with no scores less than 50) for those courses with a current requirement of IELTS 6.0 and a PTE Academic 64 (with no scores less than 58) for those courses with a current requirement of IELTS 6.5. |

A score between 52 - 57 with no less than "Borderline" in any element of the test |

Minimum score of 84 (no individual score less than 17) |
| Pearson Test of English (PTE) | PTE Academic 64 (with no scores less than 58) for those courses with a current requirement of IELTS 6.5. |
| University of Cambridge [Cambridge English Advanced (CAE)] |
A score between 58 - 66 with no less than "Borderline" in any element of the test |
