Postgraduate by Coursework and Honours

We provide scholarships and awards to students enrolled in an Honours program or Master by coursework.

Scholarships generally have selection criteria, which must be met, and can provide financial support to assist you with education and living expenses.

Higher Degree by Research

At ECU, we are committed to undertaking high quality research and offer a number of scholarships to students undertaking a Doctoral or Master by research degree.

Master of Science (Computer Science)

This course structure will be available to students commencing the course from Semester 1, 2015 onwards.

This course structure contains information about the units which comprise the course as well as the credit points required to successfully complete it.

The first year of this course requires students to complete 3 elective coursework units and 3 core research thesis preparation/proposal units) whilst in the second year students are required to complete a thesis by research.

Year One - Full Year
Comprises three core research units and three elective coursework units that are to be chosen in consultation with the Course Coordinator: The coursework units must be drawn from the list of Elective units. Coursework units should be selected to complement the research direction to be pursued. The course coordinator must approve a student?s selection of any unit outside the list of approved units.

Year Two - Full Year
Thesis The thesis component of this course is entirely research based and equivalent to 1 year of full-time study. Each semester students nominate if they wish to enrol into research thesis unit: CSG6200 Students are required to enrol in the Thesis unit at 50 or 100% of full time and are required to continue re-enrolling in the thesis component of their study until the thesis is submitted for examination.
