How to get into ECU

We provide a wide range of alternative entry pathways that non school leavers can use to gain admission into undergraduate courses at ECU.

Minimum admission requirements

There are minimum admission requirements to enter our undergraduate courses.

You must meet these in addition to meeting any special admission requirements for the course you intend to apply for.

We recognise your previous learning and experience

If you are applying for an undergraduate course and have completed previous Tertiary study; or you've completed a Diploma or above at a Registered Training Organisation; or you have significant equivalent professional experience or professional qualifications; you may be eligible for advanced standing within your course.

Professional experience counts

You don't necessarily need a degree to apply for a postgraduate course, at ECU your real-life, industry experience can count!

If you have a minimum of five years relevant professional experience, then you may be eligible for entry into one of our Graduate Certificate programs. More information.

  •  2 January: Closing date for portfolio applications to be considered in Second Round Offers
  • 16 January: First Round Offers on Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC)
  • 21 January: Closing date for applications via Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC)
  • 28 January: Closing date for applications to study the University Preparation Course (Education Assistant) on campus commencing S1 2015
  • 3 February: Second Round Offers on Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC)
  • 6 February:
    • Closing date for applications to the Screen Studies major within the Bachelor of Creative Industries
    • Closing date for applications to Business Honours courses to commence S1 2015: Bachelor of Business Honours, Bachelor of Tourism Management Honours, Bachelor of Event Sport & Recreation Management Honours, Bachelor of Hospitality Management Honours, Bachelor of Sport Management Honours
  • 9 - 20 February: Orientation for most courses (refer to the course for more information)
  • 13 February 2015:
    • Closing date for Biology, Chemistry & Environmental Science Honours to commence S1 2015: Bachelor of Science (Applied & Analytical Chemistry) Honours, Bachelor of Science (Biological Sciences) Honours, Bachelor of Science (Environmental Management) Honours
    • Closing date for Communications & Arts Honours to commence S1 2015: Bachelor of Arts Honours, Bachelor of Communications Honours, Bachelor of Creative Industries Honours
    • Closing date for Computer & Security Science Honours courses to commence S1 2015: Bachelor of Computer Science Honours, Bachelor of Information Technology Honours, Bachelor of Science (Security) Honours
    • Closing date for Engineering & Technology Honours courses to commence S1 2015 (does not include the Bachelor of Engineering Honours courses): Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) Honours
    • Closing date for Law & Justice Honours courses to commence S1 2015: Bachelor of Criminology & Justice Honours
    • Closing date for Occupational Therapy Honours courses: Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) Honours
    • Closing date for Social Science Honours courses to commence S1 2015: Bachelor of Social Science Honours
  • 15 February 2015: Closing date for receipt of portfolio documentation to support portfolio applications
  • 23 February: Semester 1 starts for most courses (refer to the course for more information)
