Portfolio applicants

Our Portfolio entry pathway assesses your ability to succeed in higher education based on a portfolio of evidence.

What do you need to supply?

You need to include an introductory letter, a resume, two written references and copies of any certificates, awards or academic records. An interview may also be required as part of the assessment.

  • Introductory letter
    Should be an explanation of why you want to attend university; the reasons and motivation behind the course you have chosen and your future career goals.
    Your letter should reflect your commitment, preparation to study and motivation to be successful.
  • Resume
    Should outline all your work experience to date. It should include details of paid work and any voluntary positions you have filled.
  • Academic records
    Should outline all your education to date, including: secondary schooling, leadership programs, sports coaching, umpiring accreditation, TAFE/Registered Training Organisation (RTO) qualifications, Industry training/accreditation, workplace training
  • Referees
    Should include a minimum of two written references, with at least one of these referees a professional / work / school reference

  • mid-March: Applications to courses commencing Semester 2 2014 are now open, check our mid-year entry page for more information
  • 30 May: Closing date for applications for Semester 2 2014 (international students)
  • 24 June: ECU South West (Bunbury) Open Day
  • 1 July: Closing date for applications to study the University Preparation Course (Education Assistant) and University Preparation Course (Education Assistant: Special Needs) on-campus for Semester 2 2014 (courses commence 5 July 2014)
  • 11 July: Closing date for applications to Masters By Research and Professional Doctorate courses for Semester 2 2014
  • 14 - 25 July: Orientation
  • 20 July: ECU Joondalup Open Day
  • 21 July: Closing date for supporting documentation for portfolio applications for Semester 2 2014
  • 25 July:
    • Closing date for applications to the Bachelor of Arts Honours for Semester 2 2014
    • Closing date for applications to the Bachelor of Creative Industries Honours for Semester 2 2014
  • 28 July: Semester 2 start
  • (Date TBA) August: ECU's Online Admission System will open for applications to courses commencing Semester 1 2015
  • 10 August: ECU Mount Lawley & WAAPA Open Day
  • 11 August: Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC) opens for applications to courses commencing Semester 1 2015
  • 30 September: Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC) closes for "on time" applications
  • 29 November: Closing date for applications for Semester 1 2014. Note: early closing dates for specific courses will be published in September 2014 (international students)
  • 29 December: WACE (ATAR) results released on Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC)
