Advanced Diploma of Design for Live Production, Theatre and Events

This nationally recognised qualification provides skills and experience consistent with the growing needs of the entertainment industry.

Units are structured to provide training in the principles, techniques and processes required in designing for theatre and film.

After initial exposure to basic visualisation and research skills, students are confronted, as a learning experience, with challenging design projects including sets, props and costumes. These projects precede practical design involvement in WAAPA productions and professional placement.

Students also attend classes in drawing, technical drawing and computer aided design.

Students are required to complete practicum placement(s) as part of this course.
