Major In Civil Engineering

Civil engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the human-made environment, including buildings, roads, bridges, tunnels, dams and other large physical structures.

Areas of study within the Civil Engineering major include a foundation in physical and engineering sciences, along with computer aided design, engineering materials, structural design amd analysis, steel and concrete design, surveying, road design and construction, water supply engineering, construction technology and site management and project management.

Students are required to complete practicum placement(s) as part of this course.

The Civil Engineering major is available to students enrolled in any of the engineering double degree courses. Civil engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the human-made environment, including buildings, roads, bridges, tunnels, dams and other large physical structures.
