Minor In Indigenous Studies
This minor gives students the opportunity to investigate and evaluate a range of matters important to Indigenous Australian peoples, including historical interpretation, identity politics, environmental perspectives, cultural practices, government policy, and economic development. In addition, students interrogate their own attitudes and assumptions concerning race and cultural diversity as they develop their cultural competencies.
The minor draws on academic disciplines of history and politics, media and the arts, as well as cultural, environmental and policy studies. It presents students with an Indigenous perspective on matters of interest to Indigenous peoples and the Australian public.
