Minor In Home Economics Education
This minor enables education students to gain specialised skills that will enable them to teach food, textile and child care courses in the lower secondary school.
Students will investigate teaching pedagogies and methodologies that use a problem-solving approach, which is an integral component of the design process and is common to all subjects in the Technology and Enterprise Learning area. In addition, the minor will investigate issues associated with teaching for life-long learning in a practical hands-on area.
It is designed for those students contemplating teaching careers as multi-skilled practitioners and is ideal for those wanting to broaden their employment possibilities.
