Certificate IV in Music (Classical)

This nationally recognised qualification is for promising classical musicians who wish to develop their skills in performance and broaden their musical background.

The units are structured to provide training in the industry areas of aural, ensemble, harmony, history and music industry.

Students specialise in Classical Performance or Classical Composition through the choice of their unit set. Details of the specific delivery arrangement units are available from the relevant course coordinator or the Program Director of Music.

Additional Course Information

It is expected and strongly recommended that students will maintain one-on-one musical tuition on a private basis. This tuition should be sufficient for students to develop their skills to complete the performance element of this course, as well as be competitive at audition for work or further study.

Further studies

Successful students may audition for other courses within WAAPA.


This course is not available for on-campus study by students with an International student visa.
