Advanced Diploma of Design for Live Production, Theatre and Events
Available to students who demonstrate potential for, and wish to acquire expertise in the technical and production aspects of Design for the entertainment industry.
Structured to provide skills and experience consistent with the growing needs of the entertainment industry. Units are structured to provide training in the principles, techniques and processes required in designing for theatre, film and television.
After initial exposure to basic visualisation and research skills, students are confronted, as a learning experience, with challenging design projects including sets, costumes, millinery, make-up and wigs.
These projects precede practical design involvement in Academy productions and professional placement. Students also attend classes in drawing, technical drawing and computer aided design.
This VET course is offered by ECU as a Registered Training Organisation under the Australian Quality Training Framework.
