This degree is designed for students wishing to become secondary Health and Physical Education, and/or Mathematics, and/or Biological, and/or Physical Science teachers.
Students will also have the opportunity to select a minor area of study from across a broad range of other study areas (but not the same as the chosen area of major), including Visual Arts, Music, Drama and Performance, English, Social Sciences, Home Economics, Design and Technology, Information Technology, Mathematics, Health and Physical Education, or Biological or Physical Sciences.
Students studying a major in Health and Physical Education also now have the opportunity to study a minor in Outdoor Education, with ECU being the only University in WA to offer this area of specialisation.
The course is designed to equip students with the skills to teach across a chosen major and minor area, thus increasing graduates' flexibility and choice of teaching in employment.
The degree includes an extensive professional placement in the second year, and concludes with a 10 week Assistant Teacher Program in the fourth and final year to ensure the course closely links all aspects of theory with professional practice in a range of school settings.
Graduates will be eligible to seek employment in both government and private secondary schools.

For Mathematics: Satisfactory result in TEE Calculus or Applicable Mathematics or equivalent.
For Science (Physical Science): TEE Applicable Mathematics, TEE Physics, TEE Chemistry or equivalent.
For Science (Biological Science): TEE Science subject, or equivalent, is preferable.
