This degree is designed for students wishing to become a secondary Health and Physical Education, and/or Mathematics, and/or Biological, and/or Physical Science teacher.
Students will also have the opportunity to select a minor area of study from across a broad range of minorsother study areas (but not the same as the chosen area of major), including Visual Arts, Music, Drama and Performance, English, Social Sciences, Home Economics, Design and Technology, Information Technology, Mathematics, Health and Physical Education, or Biological or Physical Sciences.
Students studying a major in Health and Physical Education also now have the opportunity to study a minor in Outdoor Education, with ECU being the only university in WA to offer this area of specialisation.
The course is designed to equip students with the skills to teach across a chosen major and minor area, thus increasing graduates' flexibility and choice of teaching in employment.
The degree includes an extensive professional program to ensure the course closely links all aspects of theory with professional pratice in a range of school settings.
Graduates will be eligible to seek employment in both government and private secondary schools.

For Mathematics:
Satisfactory performance in WACE Mathematics 3C/3D or Mathematics: Special 3A/3B or 3C/3D, or equivalent.
For Science (Physical Science):
Satisfactory performance in WACE Mathematics 3C/3D or Mathematics: Special 3A/3B or 3C/3D and satisfactory performance in 3A/3B Chemistry and 3A/3B Physics, or equivalents.
For Science (Biological Science):
Satisfactory performance in a course from the Science Learning Area at level 3A/3B, or equivalent.
