Bachelor of Laws Bachelor of Criminology and Justice

This double degree enables students who wish to study Law and Criminology and Justice to obtain a degree in both fields.

The course satisfies the academic requirements for the admission of law graduates as legal practitioners in Western Australia (WA). Professional recognition has also been extended to the off-campus mode of delivery from 2010.

As with other Bachelor of Laws degrees, before a graduate may be admitted to the legal profession in that state or territory, certain additional requirements must be satisfied after completion of the degree.

For law graduates seeking admission in WA, refer to the Legal Profession Act 2008 (WA).

Criminology and Justice is designed for students with an interest in criminology and the justice system. It provides a comprehensive understanding of the nature of criminology and justice and the principal disciplines that inform criminological and justice-related issues. Those principal disciplines are law, political science, psychology and sociology.

Students examine the nature of crime and social control. They also examine a broad range of areas in the domain of justice including policing, courts, law, corrections, family law and alternative dispute resolution.

The combination of Law, Criminology and Justice provides students with a practical legal qualification and a comprehensive understanding of the impact of law within various community settings.
