Entry pathways

We know there's a range of factors that can determine your son/daughter's success in secondary school.

That's why we offer multiple ways to recognise their eligibility for entry to our courses through the wide range of entry pathways we provide for school leavers and non school leavers.

Dependent on their secondary studies, they may be able to enter on of our undergraduate courses as an:

  1. ATAR student (Studying 4 WACE courses at Stage 2 or above)
  2. Non-ATAR student
Alternatively, they may be able to enter one of our undergraduate courses later down the track, through one of our alternative entry pathways such as:

What is a "mature age" applicant?

An applicant who is 20 years or over before 1 March for entry into first semester or 1 August if commencing second semester of the year in which they intend to study.

  • 4 January: Closing date for portfolio applications to be considered in the Second Round of Offers
  • 17 January: First Round Offers on Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC)
  • 23 January: Closing date for applications via Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC)
  • 4 February: Second Round Offers on Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC)
  • 8 February: Closing dates for:
    • Applications for the University Preparation Course (Education Assistant) and University Preparation Course (Education Assistant: Special Needs) close
    • Portfolio applications (and supporting documentation) made directly to ECU
  • 15 February: Applications for the University Certificate in Maintenance Engineering close
  • 16 February: Semester starts for students commencing in the University Preparation Course (Education Assistant) and University Preparation Course (Education Assistant: Special Needs)
  • 18 February: Orientation week
  • 25 February: Semester 1 starts
  • ~Mid April: Applications to courses commencing Semester 2 2013 will open, check our mid-year entry page for more information
  • 22 July: Orientation week
  • 29 July: Semester 2 starts
