Certificate IV in Music (Contemporary)

A nationally recognised qualification for contemporary musicians who wish to develop their skills in performance and broaden their musical backgrounds.

Units provide training in the industry areas of concert practice, ensemble, improvisation, workshop, aural, history, music industry, music software, copyright, OH&S, second study piano and theory.

Additional Course Information

It is expected and strongly recommended that students will maintain one-on-one musical tuition on a private basis. This tuition should be sufficient for students to develop their skills to complete the performance element of this course, as well as competitive to audition for work or further study.

Further studies

On successful completion of the course students may audition for other courses within WAAPA.


This course is not available for on-campus study by students with an International student visa.
