Master of Midwifery Practice

This course structure contains information about the units which comprise the course as well as the credit points required to successfully complete it.

The Master of Midwifery Practice requires students to complete 180 credit points (nine units) over a two year period. Students complete their first year in part time mode to enable them to commence their 'continuity of care' clinical experience. The second year of the course is to be undertaken in full time mode.

The clinical requirement for this course requires that students undertake a series of 'continuity of care experiences' where they meet regularly with women during their pregnancy and peri natal period. In their second year, students are also required to be employed in a midwifery setting in order to meet the requirements of this course.
