Minor In English Education
This minor will introduce students to poetry and fiction in their historical contexts from the 16th to 21st centuries, investigate literature from diverse cultures, and develop critical thinking skills by examining the connections between literature and social change.
Students can specialise by selecting media study (feature film, TV), traditional literary genres (poetry, prose, drama), language and writing, or literary theory units.
Minor structure
This unitset structure contains information about the units which comprise the course as well as the credit points required to successfully complete it.
Through the two required Minor Specialisation units, students will be introduced to poetry and fiction in their historical contexts from the sixteenth to twentyfirst centuries, investigate literature from diverse cultures, and develop critical thinking skills by examining the connections between literature and social change. When choosing the remaining two Minor Specialisation units, students should select units that cover media study (feature film, TV), traditional literary genres (poetry, prose, drama), language and writing, or literary theory.
