Entry pathways
Dependent on your studies in Year 11 and 12, you may be able to enter as an:
- ATAR student (If you are planning to study 4 WACE courses at Stage 2 or above)
- Non-ATAR student
If you aren't eligible to enter one of our Bachelors courses straight off, you might be eligible to enter one of our University Preparation Courses and use that as a stepping stone into a Bachelors degree!
Before selecting your entry pathway
Before selecting the entry pathway most suitable for you, it is important that you ensure you meet the following:
- English Competency requirements
- Requirements of the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE)
- Indicative ATAR for the course you wish to study (ATAR students only)
- Any subject prerequisites relevant to the course for which you wish to apply
- Any folio of work, audition or interview requirements for the course
Important Dates
2012
- 13 August: Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC) opens for applications to courses commencing Semester 1 2013
- 23 August: ECU Online Admission System opens for applications to courses commencing Semester 1 2013
- 30 September: Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC) closes for "on time" applications
- 30 September: Closing date for applications to WAAPA courses, except for Production & Design (Costume, Design, Lighting, Props & Scenery and Sound) and Stage Management courses
- 15 November: Closing date for applications to WAAPA Production & Design (Costume, Design, Lighting, Props & Scenery and Sound) and Stage Management courses
- 30 November: Closing date for portfolio applications to be considered in the First Round of Offers
- 31 December: WACE (ATAR) results released on Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC)
2013
- 4 January: Closing date for portfolio applications to be considered in the Second Round of Offers
- 17 January: First Round Offers on Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC)
- 23 January: Closing date for applications via Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC)
- 4 February: Second Round Offers on Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC)
- 8 February: Closing dates for:

- Applications for the University Preparation Course (Education Assistant) and University Preparation Course (Education Assistant: Special Needs) close
- Portfolio applications (and supporting documentation) made directly to ECU
- 15 February: Applications for the University Certificate in Maintenance Engineering close
- 16 February: Semester starts for students commencing in the University Preparation Course (Education Assistant) and University Preparation Course (Education Assistant: Special Needs)
- 18 February: Orientation week
- 25 February: Semester 1 starts

- 22 July: Orientation week
- 29 July: Semester 2 starts
