Loans

HECS-HELP

You may be eligible for a HECS-HELP loan to pay your student contribution amount for a unit of study in which you are enrolled. There are two forms of HECS-HELP assistance:

  • a HECS-HELP loan - this is a loan from the Australian Government for all or part of your student contribution amount
  • a HECS-HELP discount - If you pay all, or at least $500 of your student contribution amount for units with the same census date up-front, you will receive a 10%* discount on the amount you pay

*Note: The HECS-HELP discount for up-front payments of $500 or more has changed to 10% from 1 January 2012.

For further information, visit the Study Assist website.

FEE-HELP

If you are planning to study a course as a domestic full fee-paying student, you may be eligible for FEE-HELP assistance.

FEE-HELP is a Commonwealth loan scheme that assists eligible students to defer payment of their tuition fees.

Note - this scheme is not normally available to students who have just left school.

For further information, visit the Study Assist website.

SA-HELP

Australian Citizens and permanent humanitarian visa holders studying an undergraduate or postgraduate course may be eligible for a SA-HELP Loan to defer payment of the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSA Fee).
