Advanced Standing/Course Credit

At Edith Cowan University, exemptions are offered to students who have undertaken post-secondary studies at a recognised institution. ECU offers Advanced Standing to many institutions, from countries such as Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, UK, Sri Lanka and more.

Undergraduate applicants who have undertaken post-secondary studies will automatically be assessed for advanced standing when they submit their application for admission see how to apply. If granted, the net duration of your course will be reduced in recognition of your prior studies. Your advanced standing assessment will be forwarded to you soon after you receive your offer letter. Further information can be obtained from ECU’s representatives or ECU International.

On arrival, at enrolment, students will need to submit original documentation and complete the Application for Advanced Standing Form to confirm the grant.

If the grant of Advanced Standing/Course Credit results in a reduction in course duration then ECU is required to advise the Department of Immigration and Citizenship [DIAC] of the new expected completion date.
