Overseas Student Health Cover

As an international student on a student visa, you are required to arrange Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) before your arrival in Australia. This is a compulsory Health Insurance that is required for the issuing of a Student Visa excluding students from Sweden and Norway. You will also be required to maintain your cover whilst you are on a student visa.

Students should note the University's preferred provider is OSHC WorldCare. Cover can be obtained by using your credit card to apply online to http://www.oshcworldcare.com.au/. Alternatively, you can obtain an application form from the website and mail your payment or pay at any campus cashier.

Costs are as follows:

Single - AUD $370 per year*
Family - AUD $740 per year*
* subject to change

Students are strongly recommended to purchase cover for the duration of their visa to maximise the benefits. It covers most public hospital services and up to 85% of the fee charged for a visit to a private doctor. It also covers emergency ambulance transport and part of the cost of prescription pharmaceuticals.

Please note: OSHC does not cover any pre-existing conditions (such as pregnancy or prior illness). More detailed information about OSHC will be sent to you prior to your departure. Please read this information carefully.

Students must register on-line to receive their membership card through Worldcare.
