Hanne Haavardsholm - Bachelor of Nursing
Norway

I chose ECU because they had an exchange program in Norway who worked with ECU here in Perth. I have always wanted to travel to Australia, so when I heard I could take my degree in Perth, I just had to do it.

I love Perth! It is a beautiful city. I decided to come down here to study 3 weeks before I left Norway, and have never regret it. The people are so friendly and nice. You don’t have to ask for help, they will always ask you. Perth has a very laidback lifestyle with beautiful beaches. It is easy to get around in Perth using both the buses and the train. There are many nice restaurants, bars and many places to go partying. What more can you ask for?

Michael Lim - Bachelor of Sports Science
Singapore

Sports science is a very exciting field that is currently growing at a very rapid rate. Its growth over the past few years alone has provided opportunities that allows graduates from this program to work in a wide variety of fields/ areas. Some examples include: -elite athletes– training/ rehabilitation normal population- physical activity and wellness clinical population- cardiopulmonary/musculoskeletal rehabilitation

Due to the nature of work within the industry, Sports Science graduates are often able to achieve job satisfaction especially when they work and help people improve performance and/ or normal function.

It was a very interesting course. The passion for sports definitely provided that extra bit of motivation to learn more things. The course is well structured with lots of practical and applied components.

Through my years here, I have learnt a lot from the teaching materials, assignments and the lecturers. Thestructure of the programs within ECU provides numerous opportunities to interact and learn from the lecturers whom are often very willing share andprovide opinions.

The School of Biomedical and Sports Science is situated in Joondalup campus. It is a new campus with well- equipped technology to support studies within the university. The new facilities and up to date equipment provides a very conducive environment to learn when doing laboratories or research.

Perth has a fantastic lifestyle. It’s a place where you work hard and play hard.

Raena Worrell - Graduate Diploma of Education
Canada

I liked the people that I have met in my course. It was nice to have both Australian and international students studying together at the same time.

Joondalup campus is beautiful and Churchlands campus is also nice with a great and supportive International Students Office.

I loved orientation – it was where I met most of the people that became my friends for the rest of the year. We did lots of social activities but there was also academic programs, to facilitate our enrolment. I enjoyed the experience so much that I had volunteered for the next semester’s orientation.

I like Perth city a lot. I think being here is an excellent opportunity to travel and study at the same time. You learn a lot about yourself and you become a stronger person. You get to meet interesting people and make friends from all around the world.

The added bonus is that not only do you have lots of friends, but you also get a degree!

Lweendo Sikaulu - Bachelor of Business(Accounting and Finance)
Zambia

I find my course very useful and interesting. I know that I am learning will be applied later and the whole set up in Australia, the university and the people at the university enable you to believe in yourself and your goals. Only five years ago, no one –not even me- would have dreamed of me taking a path such as accounting and finance.

The Facilities are great at ECU, the University is professional, including the staff, and it is a great stepping stone.

I love Perth, the lifestyle here is really good. It is a beautiful city with beautiful weather and people.

Claudine Au - Master of Computer Science
Malaysia

I chose ECU because of the fact that all units and courses at the School of Computer and Information Science are accredited by the Australian Computer Society at the highest level. Furthermore, the School provides many units to choose from, giving us a more flexible course that suits our interests and needs.

This course has a variety of units that you can choose from. I like how we are allowed to decide what we would want to learn, and what would suit our individual needs to advance in our careers.

The project portion of the course gives me an opportunity to meet real life clients and work on a project together from start till end. This will prepare me for challenges in a real working environment.

Postgraduate students are given access to facilities such as the postgraduate lab and the project lab. We even have our own postgraduate lounge with a refrigerator and a microwave!

Perth city is beautiful. I love the clean fresh air and the wonderful weather. I like the lifestyle here, where outdoor events are popular. I enjoy the barbeques in the park and walk along the river. I don’t know whether it is the weather, or the environment, or simply the lifestyle, but I feel healthier and stronger just by being here!
