Celebrate Harmony Week at ECU
Cultural diversity is one of ECU’s most valuable assets, enriching our learning community and bringing with it a variety of cultural and social benefits.
Harmony Week, held from 15-21 March, provides the ideal opportunity for students and staff to recognise and respect different cultures and unite as one.
To celebrate Harmony Week in 2010, ECU and the Student Guild will be hosting Harmony Week Fairs at each of the University’s campuses. The Harmony Week Fairs give students and staff the chance to experience refreshments and entertainment from a variety of cultures, as well as meet representatives from the International Students Council and students from ECU’s Student Exchange Program (metropolitan campuses only).
Both students and staff can take advantage of a Cross Cultural Awareness Workshop which will feature guest speakers from various cultural backgrounds.
The workshop offers the ideal setting to improve your understanding and communication skills when interacting with students and staff from different cultural backgrounds.
Staff can also get a taste for multicultural delicacies by arranging their own ‘A Taste of Harmony’ morning or afternoon tea event during Harmony Week.
