Perth International Student Welcome - Saturday 12 March
Wednesday, 16 February 2011
Perth Education City and the City of Perth will be hosting the first Perth International Student Welcome.
The event will be held on Saturday 12 March at the Northbridge Piazza and is to celebrate the contribution of international students to the cultural diversity of Perth.
The event will be held in 2 parts:
- 12:00pm-2:00pm Perth International Students City Challenge
Part photo hunt and part scavenger hunt, teams of two must solve clues to find checkpoints throughout the city and collect stamps on their 'city passport'. This will be a fun way for new students to learn more about the city - its history, people and quirky spots. Ten prizes are on offer, including an overnight in Rottnest and a helicopter ride. Students can register online via the PEC website.
- 2:30pm-5:30pm Perth International Student Welcome
This official welcome is a great opportunity for new students to be acknowledged by the City, through the Lord Mayor, enjoy an afternoon of fun and entertainment by local musicians, dancers and performers and receive information on Perth's attractions and lifestyle from Surf Life Saving WA, The Fremantle Dockers and WA Police.
Volunteers from PEC, CISWA, KWAFON and student bodies will assist on the day.
The aim is to create a fun, relaxed, carnival type event.
