Students from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology
Students and staff from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) in China recently visited ECU as part of a two-week study tour.
The group of 13 were hosted by the School of Communications and Arts.
Focussing on Arts and Media studies, USST students worked closely with their ECU counterparts to produce an advertising project promoting the nation’s favourite spread, Vegemite, to ECU and Chinese peers.
The visiting group also participated in workshops in glass, design, printmaking and cultural theory as well as visiting WA museums, Parliament House and Caversham Wildlife Park.
Building on the strong links between ECU and USST, the School of Communications and Arts hope to take a study group to China in 2012 as part of an invitation to participate in the launch of the USST Australian Studies Centre in Shanghai.
School of Communications and Arts Head Professor Clive Barstow, said:
“The USST exchange is a wonderful opportunity for staff and students at both institutions to collaborate in a range of creative arts and cultural exchange projects”.
