Bachelor of Education student Danielle Bunn is taking her studies global by relocating to the United States for a semester through ECU’s exchange program.

After looking at possible universities around the world for her exchange semester, Danielle finally chose Western Washington University as the units they offered closely matched her degree.

She flew for 32 hours and stopped in four different airports en route to her final destination.

Danielle has taken on board the role of ECU Ambassador while overseas. She has also started her own blog, sharing her overseas experience with family, friends and students back home.

Since arriving in Bellingham, Washington last December, Danielle has been blogging online sharing stories of life on exchange, from studies and homework to her time spent playing broom ice-hockey and the challenges of driving on the opposite side of the road.

“I hope to gain a lot from exchange and would like to encourage others who are considering going on exchange to take the plunge,” Danielle said.

“The journey to get here is exciting, filled with expectations, dreams and occasionally nerves!”

Danielle has even set a personal goal of trying something new every day during her exchange experience.

“I don’t want to keep looking back and thinking ‘what if’ and hope other ECU students take that thinking on board!”
