When to arrive
The Orientation Program for all new students commences two weeks prior to the start of semester*. For instance, if semester commences on Monday, 30 July, orientation will commence on Monday, 16 July. It is important to check the details of your Orientation Program before you leave to ensure you do not miss anything. Attendance during orientation is expected, particularly at the 'Vital Information for International Students' session. For more information on the Orientation Program, visit the Orientation website.
You should aim to arrive in Perth approximately five days prior to the first day of orientation. This will give you time to arrange permanent accommodation and to become familiar with Perth, the ECU campuses and surrounding areas.
Students who have confirmed on-campus accommodation at the Student Villages on Joondalup, Mount Lawley or Bunbury campuses are reminded that the Student Village only opens two weeks prior to semester start. If you are planning to arrive earlier than this you will need to make special arrangements with the village or organise temporary accommodation until the village opens.
*ECU South West (Bunbury) Orientation Program commences one week prior to classes.
