Choosing units of study

ECU offers a large selection of units (also known as “courses” or “modules” in many northern hemisphere countries) across many disciplines. As a study abroad or exchange student, you may choose units in any study area, as long as you meet any prerequisites for the unit.

Please visit our online Handbook to search for available units.

Once you have located units of interest to you, you can search our online timetable to see whether the units will be running in the required semester(s).

Please note that the timetable for the (February – November) academic year is released in early November of the previous year.

How to search the timetable

  • Input the unit code e.g. MKT1600 (unit codes can be found in the Handbook)
  • Select semester 1 (February-June) or semester 2 (July-November) from the drop down “Semester” drop down box
  • Select the year
  • Click on search

Please note that units running on the Joondalup or Mount Lawley Campuses are available to Study Abroad and Exchange students, as are those running Off Campus (online). It is best to select units on one campus, as the two campuses are located approximately 25km apart and can take in excess of 1hr to travel between using the public transport system.

The South West Campus is located in Bunbury, which is 180km south of Perth in the beautiful south-west region of Western Australia. Students looking to study at our South West Campus must only select units running on this campus.

If your application for admission is successful, we will send with your offer an Enrolment Request form for you to complete, indicating which units you would like to be enrolled in. We will facilitate your enrolment in your nominated units after your acceptance into the Exchange/Study Abroad program.
