We hope that you had a truly rewarding time on exchange!
Now that you are back, there are just a few important matters to bring to your attention:
IMPORTANT! Finalising your student record
In most cases the exchange institution will forward the academic transcript of your exchange semester/s directly to our office. Once we receive this we will forward it and your signed Credit Transfer Form to ECU Assessments to have your exchange results added to your ECU record.
Please note that the only results available for units undertaken in the exchange program are:
XS – Exchange studies passed
XF – Exchange studies failed
Note. You will NOT be able to receive credit for ANY units completed on exchange that have not been approved by your ECU Course Coordinator on your Credit Transfer Form. It is your responsibility to ensure your exchange exemptions are in order, which may require you to submit an updated Credit Transfer Form. Failure to do this may delay your graduation.
Please check SIMO three months after you return from exchange to ensure your results have been added to your ECU student record. If there are any problems please contact the Study Abroad and Exchange Office straight away.
All returned ECU exchange students are required to attend a debrief session, which will be held within the first three weeks of the semester following their exchange. This debrief session will be an opportunity to meet up again with other ECU students recently returned from exchange and to share your exchange adventures. The Counselling Service will also be invited to present some information on reverse culture shock and settling back in at home.
You will be asked to participate in various activities we hold during the semester to encourage ECU students to go on exchange. Activities may include:
- ECU Exchange Fair
- Presentation at an Exchange Information Session
- Submitting testimonials and photographs
- Being interviewed about your experiences
