Located in the Mid-Atlantic region of the US East Coast, Old Dominion University calls Norfolk, Virginia home. Norfolk is known as an international port city and military hub, surely helping supply Old Dominion University with its diverse population of over 23, 000 students, including over 1,100 international students and scholars. ODU offers 70 bachelor’s programs, 60 master’s programs, and 36 doctoral programs, and has international reputation for its investment in innovative research programs. There are nearly 200 different student organizations on campus that provide social events and gatherings, with many focusing on US and international culture, as well as various varsity, intercollegiate, and intramural athletics available for participation. When you feel the need to get off campus, ODU is located just 2 miles from downtown Norfolk, which offers a wide array of entertainment, food, and shopping choices. Other tourist attractions in the area reachable by car or bus include Virginia Beach, Colonial Williamsburg, and Washington, DC.
