Money and Banking

Locate a bank near your host institution and ensure that your bank card(s) can access your home account(s). Bank cards with the Maestro or Cirrus symbol can generally be used internationally, but remember that you will likely be charged an international transaction fee as well as a fee for using another bank's ATM each time you withdraw money.
You may also want to consider opening a new bank account in your host country, and you will need to show recognised forms of identification, such as your passport, birth certificate, and/or Australian driver's licence.
