Capability Framework

ECU Capability Framework - Overview

The framework is used as a focus for professional development at ECU in order to gain a shared understanding and agreement on the critical areas of capability. It follows the VCPMG’s endorsed priority areas and provides staff with an opportunity to identify professional development activities which would enable them to perform their job with the highest level of efficiency and effectiveness and assists in achieving their career aspirations and ECU in achieving its strategic objectives.

Existing professional development modules are mapped against each capability which is in turn mapped against the four priority areas. All of these are then split into specific cohort groups.

The capability framework can be used in MPS discussions between supervisors and staff to identify professional development activities. It can also be used by individual staff to outline their PD activities.
