An Exciting Opportunity for Career Enhancement!
The Centre for Learning and Development is pleased to invite Heads of School, Potential Heads of School, Centre Directors, Associate Deans, Course Coordinators and aspiring leaders from other fields to take part in a leadership capacity building project that will be offered during 2010 as part of Edith Cowan University’s commitment to leadership development.
The project is an extension of a previous Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) grant and is being rolled out at four universities. The development work will involve the application of a systematic and strategic framework for leading change and improvement in an area(s) that the participants identify as significantly impacting. For example the issue may be drawn from student performance or survey data, from staff workplace climate surveys, from employer feedback or other university data.
An initial workshop will be held at ECU
27 January 2010
10.00am-3.30pm
Joondalup Campus
Room: 21.204
Conducted by: Dr Lorraine Bennett, Associate Director, Centre for the Advancement of Learning & Teaching, Monash University. This workshop will include clarification of the purpose of the project, an overview of the Engaging Leadership Framework, discussion of evidence-based issues, milestones and outcomes of the project, timelines, project activities and responsibilities of participants.
This is a great opportunity for you to build your leadership capacity, especially in team leadership and to make improvements to tangible issue(s) on your campus. If you think that sometime in the future you might aspire to occupy one of the leadership positions mentioned above then this course might be of serious advantage.
