Finding an ECU Thesis In The Catalogue

Theses awarded by ECU can be found in the catalogue in several ways :
The key to identification is the word "Dissertations" in a subject heading.

  • Search by Faculty
Do a subject search on the name of the Faculty that awarded the degree.
For example: Edith Cowan University Faculty of Community Services, Education and Social Sciences Dissertations.

  • Be aware that the name of the Faculty will be the name in force at the time the thesis was published.
    For example:
Edith Cowan University Faculty Of Education Dissertations (ca.1992-1997)
Edith Cowan University School Of Education Dissertations (ca.1990-1992)
Western Australian College Of Advanced Education School Of Education
                                                                       Dissertations (ca.1989-1990)

  • If you are not sure of the name of the faculty, truncate the subject search to "Edith Cowan University" or "Western Australian College" and browse through the list of headings.

  • Limiting your search..
Do any search (subject, title, author, keyword, etc.) and Limit your results by "dissertations"
as a  word in the subject.
            For example:
Subject search on "Edith Cowan", click on "Limit this Search" button, enter "dissertations" as a Word in the SUBJECT.

Keyword search "Accounting", click "Limit this Search" button, enter "dissertations" as a Word in the SUBJECT.
