External Library Service
Using a Campus Library in Person
All
external students are welcome to use the ECU campus libraries
in person.
Library staff can assist you in using the Library to research assignments.
Borrowing
from Edith Cowan University Library
Library
membership is automatic on enrolment at ECU, to Borrow Material you need to arrange for a ECU Student
ID.
You can also copy material by obtaining and using a CopyPlus Photcopy Card.
External students who live more than 30 direct km from External
Library Services (Joondalup Campus) or more than 10 km from
Bunbury Campus can get an External Library Services card from External Library Services.
Borrowing
From Other Tertiary Libraries
An
agreement between Australian University Libraries allows students to borrow from other universities.This is
called Reciprocal Borrowing.
ECU
students may register to borrow from other Perth
University Libraries and West Australian TAFE Libraries.
Membership
is for the term of the academic year.
You can also Photocopy
material at other universities.
Your CopyPlus card can be used at Murdoch but you will need
to set up a separate account.
Outside
Western Australia
Students
living outside Western Australia may be able to borrow from libraries in their home state or country.
Libraries belonging to University Library Australia allow you to register as a reciprocal borrower on with a photo ID and proof of enrolment.
If you wish to
register as a borrower at a library which is not
in the scheme, or at an overseas library,
fill in the Introductory
Letter form and send it to External Library Services.
We will send you a letter of introduction to the library you
name.
However our letter does not guarantee you
will be given borrowing rights.
Membership is
for the term of the academic year and some libraries may charge
an annual fee for membership.
