Books – searching the library catalogue
To find books on a topic, do either a "Google style" search in Library One Search or use the keyword option in the Library Catalogue. Terms can be entered either as a phrase (e.g. mental health nursing), or combined by Boolean operators and (e.g. nursing and ethics), or (adolescents or youths or teenagers) not (e.g. cancer not bowel). Note: Library One Search automatically ANDs terms. The search can be further refined by selecting the subject headings displayed within the catalogue entry of a particular book |

Books – requesting books that are out on loan or at another campusStudents residing within the metropolitan area can renew their books, recall books that are out on loan, and request that books held at another campus be sent to Joondalup for pickup. Remote students who reside within Australia can request books be sent to them. To renew a book: To recall or request a book be sent to Joondalup: Postgraduate and higher degree students, residing within Australia, can use Document Delivery to request books or journal articles not available at ECU. |

Books - electronic books (e-books) There are a number of electronic books available via the ECU Library Catalogue. To restrict a search to online material, use the drop down menu to change the search option from “”View Entire Collection” to “ONLINE”. Below is a selection of nursing e-books that can be accessed via the ECU Catalogue. |

Electronic journalsThe ECU library catalogue lists e-journals and the library databases link to particular online articles.To find e-journals held by ECU:· Go to the ECU library catalogue · Use either the Title or Journal Title option, and use the drop down menu to restrict the search to Online material.
To find particular online articles: · Enter details into the SFX Locator. The Locator checks if ECU has an online full text copy of an article. N.B. To find journal articles on a particular topic use the library databases such as CINAHL. |
