Finding Material
In general, the material for your coursework will come from one of two forms; books and journal articles.

Books (print & online) are used for an introduction, historical perspectives, and an overview of a subject.

Journal Articles are used for up to date research on a specific topic.Whilst most journals are available online, some are available in print (hard copy) on the shelves.

Library One Search helps you discover information on any topic available via ECU Library. You can search across the Library's catalogue and online journal collection, to find information from books, journal articles, newspapers and more. From your search you can link directly to the full text of articles and e-books or to the catalogue for finding books and other resources on the shelves. Access Library One Search from the Library Homepage using your ADS login at the prompt.

The Library Catalogue also lists books, journals titles, dvds and other resources held at ECU. In addition, you can check items on loan via My Library Record and Reserve lists for each unit.

Subject Guides list key library resources specific to your course/subject area, including subject specific databases.

Accessing LibraryOnline from home

The library website and the catalogue are "open access", anybody can access them.
Some of our resources however, are only available provided ECU adheres to strict licence and copyright guidelines.  Databases via the library homepage are an example of this.
